Single Leg Exercises for Balance and Core

I hope you are having a good week! Here is this week's installment of our video blog. It is one of my favorite exercises. You can do it anywhere! If you find it difficult at first, keep at it. You will see improvement faster than you think. It is an easy way to train both balance and core muscles without a lot of movement.

  • How To Use A Pressure Point Ball

    Filed to Exercises, Video

This week's video is on how to use a Pressure Point Ball to remove knots and relieve tight muscles! Who couldn't use a little of that this week? I have been giving some version of this as home therapy for over twenty years and it is by far the most popular! I have people coming in literally years later and telling me they still use their tennis ball. I hope you find it helpful. As always, call with questions!

"We Will Get Out Of Your Hair... Well, Not Your Hair!"

I hope this week's installment of Overheard in the Office finds everyone healthy and whole! This week's post was actually from a month ago until it got preempted by a National Emergency! While keeping you pain free and operating with a sound nervous system is our main job, I also recognize encouragement is one of the best things for peoples hearts and lives. One of the small ways we can bring encouragement is sharing some of the stories that go with serving the amazing people we get to see everyday: you! So here is the story, just a...

I hope you found last week's video on how to sit properly at home helpful. This week, we are going to go over my two favorite stretches for the spine. They hit the neck and shoulders and the lower back and hips. They don't take long and can really help open up locked up posture. As always, call with any questions!

"Do What You Gotta Do, Baby!"

This week's post of Overheard in The Office This Week is more a combination of attitudes that I saw, rather than heard. Sometimes, to get my mind going when I sit down to write, I look over the previous week's (electronic) appointment book to recall my conversations with different patients that came in. Of course, everyone knows what the topic of the day is. No surprise there!

This week, I've been trying to ask people how things have changed for them, or even what they have learned during this unique time in history. There are some funny stories, especially from ...

We are trying something new this week: video!

I have always wanted to try sending out some video and I have a little time right now. Truthfully, you can convey some things on video easier than in a print form. These will be short informative videos of things you can be doing for your health on your own.

This week's topic is how to avoid the pain from sitting around too much and working from home. Watch the video and give it a try!

  • Why Are You Wearing A Mask?

    Filed to Updates

Well, this is a first... on a lot of levels! This week's edition of Overheard In The Office is actually a preemptive topic! I am not a prophet, but I am pretty sure that over the next 30 days, I am going to hear the question:

Why Are You Wearing A Mask?

I hope this email finds you all doing well and making it through this turbulent time! Time is definitely something we all seem to have on our hands. Like I mentioned last week, we have been trying to make the most of our time by catching up on training and projects around the office to make your experience here even better when this all blows ...

A Fresh Start & The Crew Says Hi!

I hope this week's installment of Overheard in The Office finds you healthy and successfully building your patience as you work through your days!

A wise man once said to me, "The time is going to pass, whether you do something with it or not." Here at the office, we have taken this opportunity for a "hard reset," a fresh start, a chance to clean up some of the habits, patterns, and procedures that really didn't serve our patients or practice very well. At our staff meeting, we opened this up for discussion, and let me tell you, these ladies had some ideas! W...

Shelter in Place: What it means for Care Chiropractic patients!

As most of you are probably aware, Governor Holcomb of Indiana issued a Shelter in Place Directive starting Wednesday March 25th, 2020. This impacts just about everyone, except Health Care and other essential industry workers. In order to fulfill our role in the healthcare system and ensure the well being of our patients, staff, and the community at large, we are adapting the following until April 7th, 2020:

    1. If you are running a consistent fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or more, have a persistent cough, and or difficulty breath...

  • Except For Your Shoes... I Don't Put On Shoes

Filed to Overheard in the Office

Wow, what a week it has been! Unprecedented was a word I used a lot this week. As expected, we have seen fewer than normal patient visits as everyone is figuring out how to weather this most unique storm. Probably the most talked about topic other than the corona virus is how people's plans and daily routines have been changed and altered. That's what brings me to the topic for this installment of Overheard in the Office This Week:

"Except for shoes... I don't put on shoes."

I am cheating a little bit, I didn't actually overhear this in the office, but while talking on the phone with my son J...
